In 1980 Arthur Williamson started to publish the “Retired Governors Newsletter”. In 1987 following the formation of The Prison Governors Association The PGA began to organise an annual gathering of Retired Governors. Initially called a “Garden Party” and held at the PSC Newbold Revel, it encouraged the setting up of the Retired Prison Governors Association.
This was first suggested in 1996 and came into existence with its first annual general meeting in 1998 at Newbold Revel. The RPGA took on responsibility for the Newsletter and for Social Events from that time to the present day.

Dear Reader
This is your website and it exists for your information and of course entertainment. The entertainment elements are provided entirely by you. We know that the contributions made by our members are consumed voraciously by our readers.  With that said we can only publish what you send us so please join our other contributers and send us your stories, long or short, Prison service Experiences or just tales of youe adventures away from the service. Dont keep them to yourselves we are all interested.

Email Register

As well as being kept up to date via the two Newsletters the RPGA also operates a round the clock 24/7 email register through which a variety of useful and interesting information is processed to its members.
The E-Mail register has been operating for around 13 years and has proved itself to be an effective means of rapid communication between members. lt offers updates on current prison service developments and allows members to keep in touch with each other.

Joining the RPGA does not automatically place you on the register. If you would like to join the register then please send an E-Mail from the address you wish to have registered to HARRY BRETT at harry-brett@hotmail.co.uk. E-Mail addresses may not be passed to third parties without permission from the person(s) registered to that specific E-Mail address. Please remember that if you change your E Mail address you must inform HARRY BRETT, otherwise you will cease to receive further updates
